This morning while preparing for the day ahead in Greenwich we discovered that the new stall outside is in fact a task for the newest series of The Apprentice. The stall is quite literally on our doorstep which we’re sure will keep Mick entertained all day. So if you want to pop down and have a sneak peek at the latest contestants come down to Hide All, the place where it’s all happening - is there a budding entrepreneur outside or are we talking celebrity…….

We love our cards at Hide All and rarely does a week go by when we don’t get a new batch to admire. There’s always something for everyone, from brilliant black and white images from Nouvelle Images to the glittery numbers from Tracks and our more humourous numbers (a la Anne Tainter). Current faves are the cards from Simon Spicer combining some fantastic old school pictures courtesy of Ladybird Books with consistantly brilliant witticisms. Here are some of the best:

This is such a classic card, great for kids (both little and big!)

I’m pretty sure everyone knows someone like this. The perfect card for the right person!

Here at Hide All we’re all a bit in love with our music. Listening to music 8 hours a day when we are working here, it’s hard not to be! Thankfully we’ve all got our own tastes so the music is nothing but eclectic and certainly never dull. I thought we’d give a short run down of the current bands that we’re enjoying in the shops, and hopefully introduce you to some new music that you haven’t heard before.
SeaSick Steve’s album ‘You can’t teach an old dog new tricks’

Janelle Monae’s ‘Archandroid’

Clueless Londoner that I am, I didn’t realise that the Thames Festival had been running annually for the last 14 years, but apparently, it has. So it’s with quite some excitement that I discover that 10th and 11th September will host the 15th Mayors Thames Festival. I’m sure it’ll be quite an extravaganza, filled with all the vibrancy and diversity which London is famed for, and if I think anything of our Mayor, its that he probably knows how to put on quite a party. I’ll certainly be using my days off to have a nose around (apparently I’ve got 14 neglected years to make up for!)
Tower Bridge is hosting Alfresco Tango throughout Saturday, with lessons in the morning, performances in the afternoon and then DJs and dancing all through the night. I’m sure no less lively will be the various school choirs from across London performing on Sunday.

The parties don’t end there, there’s also a night-time carnival, a parade of boats both old and new and a music stage outside the Tate Modern. One thing that has to be seen is the Barge-Driving Races, in what must be a fantastically slow-pace affair, teams of up to 8 people row 30 ton barges 7 miles down river for about 90 minutes.

It seems to be quite a job just keeping up with the current rate that technological change. At times it seems like every week the newest flashiest, trendiest must-have thing is being released on the market. I’d only come round to the very idea of the iPhone when suddenly the iPad appeared and suddenly everyone wants one. The smartphone trend is gradually working its way through Hide All, Louise was the first to jump on board with her iPhone and her obsession with it soon inspired most of us to invest in smartphones as well, and already we’re not quite sure how we survived without them! Though we’re not quite advanced enough to set up our own app for Hide All (unfortunately, in our case there’s not an App for that), we do realise how precious (and expensive!) all the latest technologies can be so we’ve made sure to get in some of the finest cases to keep your gadgets protected.

Here are a couple of our finest iPad cases. Above is an all-leather Hidesign number that comes in black and brown, as classy as iPad cases come. Below is one Simon Carter’s new iPad cases bringing something of the country gent look to the world of Apple technology, with authentic Harris Tweed front and all-leather back. Very dapper if you ask me.

As August begins to draw to a close, and the (not-so-sunny) summer moves into Autumn we’ve been noticing a sudden influx of people shopping briefcases and satchels here at Hide All. Needless to say this can only mean one thing, its back to school time again. Inspired by this we thought we’d showcase some of our best briefcases and satchels for students and teachers alike.

The Stuart Day Bag by Hidesign is great for both work and play. It’ll fit all the files, paper pads and textbooks you may need without being to bulky or buisnesslike. Just about the epitome of ‘man bag’.

This Simon Carter laptop bag will keep your laptop protected but has loads of space of the rest of your school needs. I’m pretty certain you could cram a whole library in there if you wanted to!
