When we’re not busy working in the shop, the staff at Hide All find all sorts of ways to relax! Pauline knits, Nick plays football and Rachel travels up to North Yorkshire for some scenic walking!
Taking advantage of a week off work and university, Rachel and her chocolate-factory-manager-father went walking along the cliffs of Filey on the North Yorkshire coast. The chilly weather and muddy banks didn’t deter them from enjoying the beautiful scenery there…

The Hide All store in Shad Thames stands a few meters away from Potters Field, an area which has seen major development in the past decade. The area’s history dates all the way back to 100 AD when the River Thames swamped the land. Still part of marshlands and pasture fields in the 12th century, the area now known as Potters Field Park was owned by the Abbey of Bermondsey and later by St. Olaves school (thanks to Henry VII’s Dissolution of the Monasteries).
After many more years of architectural development, the area is unrecognisable from its former life as a swamp and is instead now home to the London Mayor’s office, City Hall. Opened in 2002, the building was designed by Norman Foster and has been nicknamed ‘The Onion’ due to its unique sphere-like shape.

The Knitters Blog!

Noa Noa Purple Shawl
Was £59 - now £30
Modeled by me: great for this cold weather!

An Arran cardi hand-knitted by my mum 30 years ago.

And my wonderful hand-knitted coat, made in the 80s and worn regularly since (florist John approves!).Hat, a Fred Bare find from their Columbia Road shop four or five years ago.
So I’m off my knitting group this evening. We were originally a reading group, then became film-goers but now knitting is our thing for these cold, dark, dreary winter days.

Cards for knitters? We have them too!

How difficult is this concept to explain? Pauline and Mick have recently had Spanish friends to stay and, while watching the colourful New Year Parade, had difficulty in trying to describe the pearly kings and queens - what a challenge!
We love our buttoned bags from Torba - perfect for aspiring pearly kings and queens! Retailing at £19.99, they come in an assortment of colours and all with buttons and buttons.
