The Scoop will be hosting a series of free theatre events throughout the summer, showcasing new revivals of classic stage productions. Theatre buffs can enjoy live theatre performances in a relaxed atmosphere, with a picnic and a bottle of something refreshing to go with.

This summer’s family offering, Toad Hall, centres on Toad, the famous character from Kenneth Grahame’s popular story who wants to be more famous than he already is. This light-hearted production intends to make full use of its outdoor setting as the Thames becomes the riverbank of the story and nearby City Hall becomes Toad’s precious home. Puppets and music help bring this story to life!!

And if that is not your cup of tea they are also offering Don Juan in Love. A José Zorrilla play about the philandering Don Juan, who is a devil with the ladies and a demon with a blade. With raucous comedy and swash-buckling adventure, The Steam Industry’s production is a fast-paced new version for the city to thoroughly enjoy.
So after visiting Hide All why not pop down and have a look; we certainly will be!

London’s bicycle sharing scheme is now in full swing after being launched on 30th July 2010. After signing up, cyclists can collect a bike at one of the 400 docking stations across the city, then just pay as you ride - what a great idea!

How about using one to visit us in Shad Thames or Greenwich market? Cheap, eco-friendly, and a brilliant way to see the city (and our stores!)

It was a victory for England at the Cartier Cup 2010 when they played New Zealand on Sunday. The pimms was flowing and the sun was shining as England dominated the field.

The earlier match between Hurlingham and the Prince of Wales’s team was also a spectacular sight to be seen with an energetic five Chukka match. As he relaxed in the Royal enclosure, we are sure though a good game Prince Charles was disappointed to see his team defeated.

Tower Bridge Jane really enjoyed her day out with friends and has been reading up on the history of polo. So we thought we would share a small polo fact with you all involving the Hurlingham team that she saw.
Polo Fact
In the mid 19th century an Irishman, Captain John Watson, of the British Cavalry 13th Hussars, created the first set of written rules for playing polo. In 1874 the Hurlingham Rules were created. They limited the number of players to five on a team and included the offside rule.

In the spirit of summer, we thought we would share our favourite beaches here at Hide All. In the hope that we would get to visit before the sun leaves.

Starting with Rachel’s favourite, Brighton beach has so much choice. With the famous pier, lanes for shopping, and pebbles, it is a classic for England.

Next we have Katy’s! Though Katy is beginning a new adventure as an Art teacher, we felt given she is such an important part of Hide All that its only right she be included! Her choice is Holkham beach in Norfolk; and being a Norfolk girl we should think this place has some great memories for her.

Our newest member of Hide All has chosen something a bit further from home. Estepona beach in Spain is where Jane likes to spend her time when possible and hopes to get there for a visit very soon!

Our last but certainly not least choice is Pauline’s very favourite and much loved Saunton Sands in Devon, where she grew up, and still visits whenever the opportunity arises. A truly beautiful place, it is apparent from this image just why this would be her favourite.
So we wish you all happy holidaying this summer!
