Helped by Rough Trade Records, this is some of the new music that Hide All has chosen to play in store this month…
1) Jeffrey Lewis - 12 Crass Songs: Featuring Rough Trade’s favourite anti-folk singer-songwriter, Jeffrey Lewis reinvents 12 protest songs by the band Crass on this 2007 release. It’s good but watch out for the swear words!
2) Gil Scott-Heron - I’m New Here: Best known for his spoken word soul performances during the late 70s and early 80s, Gil Scott-Heron’s latest album marks his fourth decade as a recording artist and has already been described as one of this decade’s best records by The Guardian’s Jude Rogers.
3) The Low Anthem - Oh My God, Charlie Darwin: This American folk-rock four-piece have been going since 2006 but have recently come to prominence with their second album, wittily entitled Oh My God, Charlie Darwin. Very Hide All.
4) The Very Best - Warm Heart of Africa: The debut album from singer Esau Mwamwaya and London DJ duo Radioclit, this album combines an Afro-Western mix of dance, hip-hop, pop and the traditional music of Malawi where Mwamwaya hails from. Watch out because we’ll be playing this one throughout the summer months!

This season’s Radley ‘Beside The Seaside’ Picture Bag features a nostalgic British Summer scene, with the Radley dog relaxing in his deckchair by the sea near some patterned beach huts. And there’s a matching Matinee Purse too.

We’re loving it! But could you buy one without the other…

This is the music that you and we are all loving in Hide All at the moment. Previously known as Rachel Unthank & The Winterset, The Unthanks‘ 2nd album The Bairns was nominated for the 2008 Mercury Music Prize and critics have loved their unique folk songs…
“Even more satisfying, compelling and varied than the Mercury-nominated The Bairns. Haunting, original and magnificent” **** The Guardian
”Absolutely exquisite. A real work of art. I will be playing it least forever” Paul Morley
”an exquisite mixture of light and dark, instinct and artistry” **** Neil Spencer, Uncut
